In 2018, the US Chamber of Commerce and, starting in July 2019, the world’s largest gemological laboratory – GIA, recognized lab-grown diamonds as real diamonds.

Although even the best diamond and jeweler in the world will not be able to distinguish between a lab-grown diamond and a natural diamond, there is a single difference, which is the way in which the diamond is “born.”

Same thing for less money

The stones are completely identical in their optical, physical, and chemical properties. Although in a natural diamond, pure carbon is compressed in combination with enormous pressure for millions of years deep in the earth, causing it to crystallize into a perfect crystal, which is the diamond. In a lab-grown diamond, they manage to simulate the same conditions of pressure and carbon gas, thus creating a chemical reaction (plasma) that turns the coal into a compressed crystal (diamond).

Natural diamonds contain trace amounts of nitrogen, while lab-grown diamonds contain none at all. This is one of the signs gemologists use to identify whether a diamond was grown in a lab or naturally.

Environmentally friendly and conflict-free

A lab-grown diamond is also called a green diamond, because during production in the lab, nature is not harmed as in diamond mining.
Diamond mines cause ecological destruction and environmental pollution during the diamond mining process, especially since throughout history there have been many conflicts between people over diamond mining. The industry has been dominated by hostile elements who fought over it to gain control and money, and even extensive exploitation of cheap labor.

While the lab-grown diamond industry is free from conflict, does not involve pollution and ecological destruction, does not harm the environment, and does not violate human rights.
So, it’s important to know that purchasing a lab-grown diamond is a huge financial savings compared to purchasing a natural diamond, so there’s no reason not to upgrade to a piece of jewelry with a lab-grown diamond.
